SCREW THE NORMAL LIFE!!! I'm going diving...

This is not a silly question...I've been asked many times and many are actually shy to ask this...so here we go...

MY ANSWER PART 1

Swimming is not necessary to start the course but the instructor who accepts a student like this must be ready to include it as part of the course. If the student is not able to swim, instructor either teaches swimming or snorkeling as part of the course process.

Generally the instructor must ensure that if this person falls into the water, he/she wont drown and can somehow make their way back to the boat/shore.

MY ANSWER PART 2

You can do what PADI offers: a DSD (Discover Scuba Diving). 1 dive with an instructor to try and see if you like it or not...its a shallow dive in easy conditions...

If you do this dive (usually RM200++ depending on location) and like it, you would be able to qualify this as dive number 1 of your PADI Open Water Course.

At Turtle Bay Divers, they wont charge you for this dive if you decide to immediately continue into the Open Water Course. If you don't feel comfortable, just pay the DSD price.

This is usually a good way to "test first" before signing up for the full course.
